May 6, 2008 HEARTBEAT TIME!

Today I got to hear the baby’s heart beat! It was loud and clear! Yes, this video shows my beautiful freckled belly and my lovely scar, but it is what it is! My belly doesn’t even look 4 months Prego when I’m lying down! Funny.

April 30, 2009-Updated

Well folks, say goodbye to the hottest look'en bike in town because I'm about to go meet it's new owner, Bruce T. up at Stone Mountain Harley for the final paper signing moment.

It's going to a great home. I couldn't have asked for a better person to take this bike and I know he'll love it as much as I did! Take care of this Black Beauty Bruce!

Good Times.

Update: Everything went well. Alex was so thrilled to meet Nancie and Bruce. He went to bed talking about them. Alex even presented Bruce with his own Bell for the bike. I was too busy running my mouth like always and missed that part! Anyway, I will get my Bell that Dad put on my bike in a few days and add it to Pop's bike so our Bells can ride together like they are supposed to. Bruce, I hope you aren't a fair weather rider because I want to go on a ride after Sweet Baby Kutsche arrives. We have decided to ride on my Birthday every year and we call it the Forrest Gump Frosty Balls Memorial Ride. So, you have to come! xoxo

The Ice Cream Man 4-22-09

All of a sudden I hear music. It made me think of Dad. Ah, The Ice Cream Man came to my office park today and I instantly thought to myself, "Wow, Dad would be having a fit right now if he saw the Ice Cream Man". Just then the ice cream truck turned towards my office window and I saw that the driver side of the windshield was foggy looking and there were hundreds of finger prints covering the windshield that made the shape of angel's wings. (BIG ONES) And then it was gone. SO AWESOME!

Hello Pop. xoxo

Silly Morning 4-16-09

I swear sometimes I think, “Dad is in heaven, but his personality and words live on thru me and I have no control over it”. Well, at least in his way to say something really stupid just to make someone laugh.

No lie this is what came out of my mouth this morning when the fed ex guy and his trainee in tow came in to drop off their every Thursday package…

“morn’en mam, how are you doing?” “Well boys, I must be pregnant. I’m enjoying a cup of coffee, fritos and wal-mart cheese, want some?” “Lord no we don’t want any, but you better tell someone around here that you’re pregnant before they call the mental authorities!” Lord, I think they figured it out already, I’ve turned into the biggest mean Ass there is!”

Both mean fell on the floor in shock at my words as they were holding there noses to keep from smelling the fritos!!!!!!!

But the funniest part about it was me! I was laughing so hard because "Mean Ass" is Dad's phrase and it just flew out of my mouth. I laughed for 5 mintues after they left.

This could have been one of those "Had to be there" moments. :)

This is Baby Kutsche Rides with Melissa

Not to forget the daily blog for Sweet Baby Kutsche...

He/She is about the size of a plum. No weird cravings so far. Well, I suppose you could say I "had" a craving for ketchup last week. Man, it was more like, "Hey, watch out, I'm coming thru and don't get in my way when I'm reaching for the KETCHUP!!"

But, now that is over and everything is back to normal. My junior size 3 pants are no longer fitting over stomach or butt. This is a good thing. I was way too small in the first place. Don't get too excited. I've only gone "up" to a woman's size 2. But come on. Bird legs with pooch? My cousin's husband was right 10 years ago. "Melissa will probably look like a Toothpick and an Olive". Hmm....

Wednesday, April 15th

Well, everyone else seems to be having a tea party. I finally figured out what that means. It's where everyone goes to complain about April 15th. TAX DAY! Please. They should be used to it by now. And besides, why are there thousands of people running to the post office like they haven't known since February that their taxes are due. I say Feb. because isn't that the deadline to receive your W2, 1099's, interest paid on mortgages and crap like that? I received all mine when I should have. I've had my tax return for months. Maybe other people will hate me for saying that! Toot my own horn so-to-speak.

Well, I wish I had someone to share this beautiful day with. Well, I'm sharing it with my precious Daisy and Alex, but they are currently a little pre-occupied with catching a "big menacing horse fly" that has taken up residency in Alex's room. Pretty entertaining if I do say so myself.

These are the days I wish I could smoke a nice mild cigarette and have a glass of wine and sit on the deck and listen to the birds sing. Sigh. I guess with Swen out of town and Dad in heaven, I have no one to "vent" with. Hense the blogger.

Cheers.

4-8-09 Visit to the Doctor

I was so excited when I got up this morning because today was the day I was going to hear the baby's heartbeat! Well, not only was the little booger not big enough to hear that faint sound, I used my cell phone to video the appointment and that faint beating and then click. It's gone. I deleted it on accident!!!

Pregnancy makes me dumb as a box of rocks. Jeez.

So, my next appointment is on May 6th. My Mother-in-law will arrive the day before so I'm hoping she'd like to go with me. They said we could hear the heartbeat on that visit for sure!

First Pair of Maternity Pants

Well, at only a size 2, one would think I wouldn't need maternity pants. But, after purchasing several "normal" pairs of pants in varying sizes with total discomfort, I've decided I just don't care. Besides, you can't tell they're maternity unless I lift up my shirt and show you!

What's next, a moo-moo for summer? Lord.

HUNGRY!

I'm currently waiting on a pizza man that has a death wish! I was told by a friend that I should update my blog more, but I currently have no photos of big bellies to share. I could show you my chest. That seems to be the only thing growing these days. Hey, I'm not complaining!

Okay, I'm starving and the pizza guy must be lost! So much for ordering online!

To be continued...

My New Riding Buddy-MOM!

Varsity Sunday Ride Feb. 08, 2009

115 miles! It was wonderful, like always. Lala2, D and Double D, Benny Richie, Don Tucker and his girl Ann, Tim Tuna and April, Judy Marshall and myself. Good times!

1st Annual Forrest Gump Frosty Balls Memorial Ride

December 27, 2008
Well, we went riding today! Yesterday's paper said 72 degrees and sunny and the weather channel said 67 degrees and sunny. Hmm. Today we had 60 degrees or lower with no sun to speak of. We even had some "mist" if you will. But, there is never a bad day of riding. It was the best birthday I could ask for, really. We did 65 miles, not the usual 250, so it was just right for the type of weather we had. The group today consisted of Tony "T-Dog" Wellborn, Donnie Lockridge and Donna Davis (D and Double D) Steve-0 Klaer & his friend Tammy and Swen. Somewhere along the trip the temperature starting dropping and about that time, we turned off to say our good-byes to the riders that were not joining us for lunch/dinner. Classic T-Dog stated that we had just completed the First Annual Forrest Gump Frosty Balls Memorial Ride. We all nearly pissed our pants! It was hilarious. So, that's all it took. I'd bet at least five bucks that next year, the group grows to double digits!

The rest of us finished my birthday ride off with some burgers and beers at a local pub. I'd say that 32 is gonna be a good year. Thanks for riding guys, you made my day!

The Gas Tank

I've noticed several people looking at me like I was crazy when I say Dad's urn is a gas tank. They just look at me like I'm some back woods idiot. So, I took a picture of it.

I almost forgot...

Ride with Melissa takes Swen's Mother thru Lawrenceville the night before she left...

From Swen and Rosa in Lawrenceville

Almost a 300 mile Sunday...

Good grief. That's all I can say about Sunday's ride. Let me first say that there is no such thing as a bad day of riding. It's just that your body can't take hours upon hours of anything, fun or not. I did have a blast, but holy crap, I was beat. For some reason, I think that every single ride I take will be a half day sort of thing. It has never ended up like that, so what the heck was I thinking? We decided to take Swen's brother that leaves tomorrow, Oct. 7th, on a day trip to Blood Mountain. Ok. Then I was told we were meeting two more riders at a Waffle House. Good, I thought, I was starving and the more the merrier. They pulled up on Suzuki Burgmans (glorified scooters). I actually laughed to myself. They turned out to be the ones laughing. They blew us off the road and never looked back. It was all any of us on Harley's could do to keep up with these Crotch-Rocket/Scooters. Dad had a saying, W.F.O. (wide f'ing open) and they were, ALL DAY LONG. Not once did I get a whiff of any flowers or even cow poop. We were 90 to nothing from beginning to end. Oh how I longed for cig and a coke. My hands felt as if they would be permanently bent in the shape of a nostalgic hand grip. I'm not over exaggerating when I say my speedometer never got below 70 miles per hour unless it was coming to a screeching halt at a Slightly Tap on Pedal sign (stop sign). It's true, I must have wussed out at the word go. But, it was challenging and dull moments were few and far between. Where are the pictures? Well, who the hell had time to whip out a camera? (Thorsten, hopefully he’ll share) Not me, I was too busy preparing for the next "Go Speedracer, go" moment. Shoot man, good times!

300 Mile Saturday

From 300 Mile Saturday

Well, we wanted to ride so bad, we stole gas from the lawn mower container! We had a good time. This picture shows Swen and his brother, Thorsten, carefully pouring regular gas in our steel horse babies! Oh my gosh, we WERE desperate. We even took a small 1 gallon container with us, just in case. Good times!

Note: My Mother even came by on Sunday to ride her bike. She did awesome! I have no picture to prove it, but we went all the way to Tribble Mill Park and back. She'll be pro in no time! Way-to-go MOM!

Ride To Remember

This past Sunday, September 14th, was a ride to remember family and friends that are no longer with us. We started at Stone Mountain Harley Davidson and added our passed loved ones' names to a list. Before we left for our circle around the mountain, there was a prayer and everyone's name on the list was called out. It was really nice because riding on beautiful days like Sunday is what they would have loved to do.
We ended up at Will Henry's Tavern for lunch and live music. Nice ride!

Changing out seat on Street Bob

Well, I wanted yall to see how much better Dad's bike looks with his new seat that I had taken off back in June. But shocker, Melissa deletes the finished product before it gets posted. So, all you see here is a bike without a seat. Not too pretty. I took off the flags. They were looking ratty. Anyway, the newer seat is on and it rides really good. I'm using muscles I didn't know I had lately while riding. I'm aching all over after I park it. Maybe because my bike is a peanut compared to this thing!

Nothing to do with riding, but...

I found this picture on my CELL phone! Of all places. It must have been taking by Alex. Recognize the tattoo? That's the only way I knew it was GUMP! I remembered, he was eating soup...so funny! That mask scared the heck out of the neighborhood kids!

The Look-a-like Contest

Well, what can I say? This dude walks up from the parking lot of Paul's on the River and from a distance, this guy has everyone at my table with their mouths wide open. From the shirt, pants, shoes, glasses, hair style or lack of one and the gray goat-tee, this guy was Forrest all over again. Even his little strut made everyone do a double-take. Well, Donna helped me out and we got a photo. Thanks D! Now that I look at the photo, he doesn't look that much like Dad? I think he looked more like Dad in person...

All the way to Helen Back!

This slide show is awesome because we had so much fun. The ride to Helen was the best ride to Helen I've ever taken. Donnie L. was the perfect guide as we layed it in the curves all the way. Never touching the interstate! Thanks Donnie!

Judy, Donna, Swen, Daryl, Bubba, Pam, Ricky, Donnie and myself. What a hoot!

Woodrow Lane

I found this picture on my computer. Obviously Dad must have used my computer to download his pictures one day. I never even noticed until now. If anyone knows where this tree is, please let me know. I'd love to see it in person.

Man of The Month November 2006

This was Dad's shining moment back in November 2006. Full Throttle Magazine made him man of the month. We framed it and put in on the mantle. Now Alex has it in room. He shows all his friends his Pappy that was in a magazine. He's so proud.

More Pics from Twisted Throttle Choppers Benefit

Ulises shared his pictures from the Benefit for Benny...Check out Swen and James!

Dad's Outgoing Message on his voicemail

Before Dad's Nextel gets disconnected, I thought I would save his outgoing message. Kinda weird, but I don't care.

Twisted Throttle Choppers & Haul Ass Hot Rods Benefit

First benefit ride without Dad. His bike was there, though. We had a good time. D and Double D met us at Swen's house with Judy. Bubba came by and rode my bike. I rode Dad's. We met up with Ulises, Hobbs, Eyes in the back of my head-James, his Daughter Leann, Nelson, Gwen, the entire Richie family, Bologna James Barret, Reggie, Blake, Gloria and her niece, Tracy and whole mess of other folks that I'm sure to be yelled at for not putting their names. Anyway, there was a bike show and Swen brought home TWO trophies for his bike! Best in Show and Best Custom. I'm so proud for him! Tracy brought home Best Rat Rod! Awesome guys!

Anybody else sunburned like hell?

Slide Show of Dad's Ride June 7, 2008

This slide show is in Extra Large mode, so it's cutting off some of the pictures. If you guys see a picture you'd like a copy of, you can use the link to the right to access it on my online photo album. It's called "Ride Forrest Ride June 7, 2008".
Thanks to everyone that attended! xoxo, M-Diesel

Silly Picture of Nightster

This picture was taken by Ulises. Dad and Teresa went into a gas station we stopped at on the Benefit Ride for Benny and saw this cardboard cut-out of my Nighster XL1200.
They cracked up and just HAD TO HAVE IT! Of course, I did too when I saw it. We didn't know how we were going to get it home on the bikes, but D and Double D helped out and I have it at home in one piece. That was the last ride we went on. We had a good day!

Now that I think about it, Starr was running late and we missed the big group that left out at Burson Tire. We left about 10 minutes later, just me, Dad and Calvin and of course Starr riding with Dad. So, it was kinda cool our last ride.

Forward Controls are on!

No picture yet, but forward controls are on! Thanks to the Easter Bunny for coming early to deliver those. So far, I've only gone about 20 miles on them and most of that was a straight shot home. The two times that I had to put my feet down to stop and go again were STRANGE! My feet did the only thing they knew to do and there was nothing there for them to stand on! So, it will take some getting used to! I'll post pictures sometime soon!

North Atlanta Trade Center Ride - The Whole Gang

Who rode? Forrest & Starr, Tracy, B.J. & Benny, Joey & Rose, Rob & Denise, Steve-O, James Barrett, Benny's Cousin (forgot his name) and Jared. Nelson came too, but wasn't present for photo. We met up with some friends while we were there. We saw T-Dog Welborn, Donnie & Donna, Pearl and Daryl, and Calvin with his brother James!

Bad picture, but still shows new seat

With the weather being like it is, I haven't washed the bike, but this pic shows the new seat...

New Seat Gets a Special Fit

Video of Little Joey Wellborn taking care of my new Mustang Swen got me for Christmas. Thanks Joey! It's looks great!

Mel's New Handle Bars

This is a picture of the new set of Mini Apes that Tony Welborn gave me for my birthday. The new handlebars will have to wait before they are installed because I need the extended throttle cable, brake cable and clutch cable. I thought that it would be a while to get those, being that they cost a total of $300! But, I did some searching online and found out that I can use the Dyna Wide Glide cables for half the price! So, sooner than later on the apes! Thanks Tony for starting this thing rolling!

Perfect day for a ride...

It's January 6th and the weather was so warm, I couldn't believe it! So of course a ride was 1st priority. Me, Swen, Daryl and Jimmy started off by heading over to Cycle Gear in Lawrenceville to check out some new helmets. From there, we went to the Lawrenceville airport and had lunch at the Flying Machine and watched some planes take off. After that we rode to Tribble Mill Park. Man, that place was crawling with folks, so we just looped around and headed down Callie Still towards Loganville. From there we decided to take the scenic route to Stone Mtn. Harley Davidson. Last stop before heading home was Haul Ass Hot Rods Garage for some Spring/Fall pep talk about the upcoming Rallies in Cherokee and Pigeon Forge. Can't wait!

Benny at the 1/4 mile starting point...

Melissa tries to beat Benny's 90mph...

Okay, now that this post has been up here for awhile, it's time that everyone should know that I did beat Benny's 90mph. I hit 95.6mph on my best out of three runs. It was wild. For Benny's sake, I should tell you that he did have a major malfunction with his bike right at take off. So, the gig is on for the 2nd Annual Biktoberfest in Oct. 2008 at the Atlanta Drag Way in Commerce. Benny, will you race again?
